We decided it was in our best interest to let the neurosurgeon and physionomist we’re going to see when we go to the regional hospital know more about the history and situation surrounding Bernard’s back injury.  This, hopefully, will set a more positive tone and maybe even bring out the scientist in them.  (One can always hope)  The letter we sent, which we’ve linked to below, explains the history of the injury as well as the errors we feel have been made by the medical system in the diagnosis and treatment of his lumbar injury to this point. 

May this letter prove helpful for others in a similiar predicament, and shed a little light  on what it’s like dealing with the current medical system when suffering with back injuries that don’t fall into the oversimplified standard medical model.
